Fall Newsletter | 25 Years of Educating for Sustainability

anniversary-header.png

This year marks our 25th anniversary educating for sustainability. Twenty-five years of engaging educators and inspiring young people to think about the world, their relationship to it, and their ability to influence it in an entirely new way. We’re proud of our work equipping educators and administrators with the core content and habits of mind necessary to cultivate systemic change. In our opinion, there is nothing more important than learning and working together for the future we want. We believe that a healthy and sustainable future is possible.

Thank you to all who have participated in, and contributed to, this important work. Here’s to the next 25!

SHARE YOUR EFS CURRICULUM
The EfS Collective is a group of scholars, researchers and practitioners who are interested in advancing Education for Sustainability (EfS). We believe that in order to accelerate and scale EfS in formal education we need to provide educators with exemplary content and tools that reflect and are aligned to EfS Benchmarks.
You’re invited to share your lesson plans and learning experiences for personalized feedback and one-on-one coaching from our reviewers. Help us grow the collection for quality curricula that educates for sustainability.

INTEGRATED TEACHING AND LEARNING
Sanch Lawrence worked with New York City Department of Education’s Academic Integration Network and the Cloud Institute to learn how facilitate authentic learning experiences in a virtual classroom that were personalized, interest-based, student-designed, and self-directed. Here's her experience.
